Simple, addictive, and frustrating, Protozoa is a never-ending game in which you must guide a fragile single-celled organism through a dangerous primordial soup.

Obstructing your path are a bunch of small creatures that burst your protective bubble when you collide with them. Theres also a giant face that complicates your life with its disruptive breath. For reasons too complicated to explain, you move the main character by creating black holes around the screen. As long as your character keeps moving, youll keep scoring points. However, if you get too close to a black hole, youll be pulled in. Inevitably, youll either blow up or get sucked into the void, so the goal is to stay alive as long as possible.

BE WARNED: until you get used to the controls, this game is difficult. Chances are that youll probably die within a couple of seconds when you first play it (at least thats how the testers did). However, blowing up over and over again is just part of the addictive fun.

For a benchmark, our high score on Ascend was 5,201 during development. Our high score on Descend was 8,058 (although we were testing and fixing an exploit). Go ahead and beat these.

Theres also an insane mode that makes everything move really, really fast. Our high score here was 301. Good luck.
